**Action Required** ERA Delays Require NPI Registration with payers/clearinghouses

On 5/23/08, Most insurance carriers will only accept NPI #s which means they will no longer accept legacy provider numbers.  As a result, providers/groups that don't have their NPI #s registered with the insurance carrier, and the clearinghouse will not recieve incoming ERA files because when the clearinghouse parses the files, they will not filter into Kareo via the NPI#. 

To update your NPI with the insurance carriers, please follow the below listed instructions:                     

1. Call the Insurance Carriers for which you recieve ERAs, and make sure they have your providers NPI#s linked to the provider in their system.

To update your NPI# with the clearinghouse, please follow the below listed instructions:

1.  Send an email to enrollments@kareo.com with:  a) Provider/Group Name, b)Tax ID#, c) Provider and/or Group NPI#s.
