Important Message regarding Kareo and Clearinghouse Holiday Schedules

Kareo: will close Friday 5/23/08 at 8pm EDT/ 3pm PDT and reopen Tuesday 5/2708 at 9am EDT/ 6am PDT.

MedAvant: will close Friday 5/23/08 at 3pm EDT/ 12pm PDT and reopen Tuesday 5/27/08 at 5am EDT/ 2am PDT

During this time their processing systems will be taken offline for the purpose of relocating them to a new data center.

·  All electronic transactions, claim submissions, Real-time Eligibility, ERA, etc.., will not be available.    

Claims received on Friday before 2pm EDT/ 11am PDT will be delivered to the payers on Tuesday May 27th.

Confirmation reports for claims received on Friday will be available beginning Wednesday at 5:00am EDT/ 2am PDT.

Gateway EDI: will be closed on Monday 5/26/08. However, you may continue utilizing EDI services.

Claims received after 3:00pm EDT/ 12pm PDT on Thursday 5/22/08 will be submitted to the payers on Tuesday 5/27/08.

MedAvant will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on May 26, 2008.

    •  Our systems WILL NOT be accepting claims on May 26, 2008.
       
    •  Real-time Eligibility and Claims Status WILL NOT be available on May 26, 2008.

ALL SYSTEMS WILL BE BACK ON-LINE AND AVAILABLE TO CUSTOMERS NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, MAY 27TH AT 5:00AM EDT.

Import Message regarding NPI numbers

Date Range: Effective May 23, 2008

Details:

·         Medicare and other payers will begin rejecting HIPAA inbound claims containing legacy provider identifiers for any primary provider.

·         The following Medicare pre-pass edits will reject claims as an INVALID VALUE on the H99RAR04 report when the applicable Billing, Pay-to, or Rendering (claim or detail) provider loops contain an REF01 of 1C or 1G.

·         The edits will be begin appearing as informational effective 1/7/08 until the final implementation date of 5/23/08, at which time they will reject claims if billing requirements are not met.

·         Please note these messages are informational only the claims were received and processed successfully at the payer.

Submitter Actions:

·         Do not remove your legacy provider or group numbers, these will be stripped from your file before the claim is forwarded onto the payer

·         Make sure that you have a NPI number entered for all  groups, rendering providers, referring providers, and service locations before 5/23/08
