Appointment Scheduling Duplication Problem

Monday, Oct 22, 2007 - 10:58:23 AM

Recently, we discovered a problem with the Kareo appointment scheduler which creates duplicate appointments when an existing appointment is edited.  The workaround for this problem is to click the 'Refresh' button on the scheduler which eliminates the duplicate appointment.

Our engineers are working hard to resolve this problem and we anticipate an update soon.

Problems reported with installing Kareo on computers for the first time

Tuesday, Jul 3, 2007 - 06:11:34 PM

A few customers have reported that Kareo will fail to install on a clean computer where Kareo has never been installed in the past.  We have confirmed the problem, and believe that it may be related to the installation of the .NET framework.  Until we finish our research and determine the permanent fix we recommend that customers affected by this problem install the .NET framework separately before installing Kareo.  To do so, visit  this Microsoft page  and download and install the "dotnetfx.exe" program.  Once finished, try installing Kareo again.

If you already have Kareo installed, you are not affected by the problem.  Only perform the step described above if when installing Kareo you receive a message "Runtime Error" and "abnormal program termination".  We will post another update when we have determined the cause and permanently fix the problem.

Practitioner update released

Friday, Mar 16, 2007 - 10:06:18 AM

We just released a new version of Kareo Practitioner, our product for Windows-based Pocket PCs and Windows Mobile phones.  The new version supports screen resolutions other than 240x320 — now you can run Practitioner on mobile devices with VGA resolution, square screens, landscape mode, etc.  Note that our application requires touchscreen phones and is not intended for smartphones without touchscreens.

We are also starting to drop support for Windows Mobile 2003 SE.  Until July 31, 2007, if you have a Windows Mobile 2003 SE device that you would like to use with Kareo, please contact us and we'll provide you with a version.  After July 31, we will no longer support devices with Windows Mobile 2003 SE.  At that time or sooner we intend to introduce support for Windows Mobile 6 Classic and Professional.

You can download the latest version of practitioner for Windows Mobile 5 from our website.

Kareo and Windows Vista

Monday, Feb 26, 2007 - 11:44:36 AM

Several customers have asked about Kareo's support for Windows Vista.  We stand behind our product's functionality on Vista, and have successfully run it on Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Business editions.  We do not believe that other editions of the new operating system would cause any problems with our software.

If you're running Kareo on Vista, we would definitely like to hear from you if anything is out of the ordinary — or, indeed, if everything is going well for you.

Update: We've discovered that Kareo does not work on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista.  We expect to become compatible with the 64-bit versions in the next couple of releases.  Until then, we recommend that customers only run Kareo on the 32-bit versions of Vista.
